The first Japan Infrastructure Investment Forum was held in Washington, D.C. in January 2018, the second in Indianapolis, Indiana in November of the same year, the third in Austin, Texas in February 2020, and the fourth was held online in March 2021. Many people participated in the forum and shared Japan-U.S. expertise in the field of infrastructure, including Public Private Partnerships and Smart Cities.
This time, MLIT, the United States Department of Transportation, and the State of California will have presentations on their respective policies on the topics of decarbonization and the utilization of digital technologies, based on new infrastructure needs in response to changes in values due to climate change and Covid-19.
In addition, this forum will promote the participation of Japanese companies in specific projects in the State of California by introducing measures being advanced in the decarbonizing and digital technology fields, including the projects and technologies being advanced by Japanese and U.S. companies.
